Hayden Panettiere death investigation remains active in South Carolina

The investigation into the death of actress Hayden Panettiere remains active, according to the Greenville Police Department. While the Greenville County Coroner’s Office has ruled her death an accident caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine, police clarified that the ongoing investigation is separate from the closed 911 incident report.

Panettiere, 36, was found unresponsive at an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina, on the afternoon of August 16. Toxicology reports also detected naloxone and cotinine in her system. She had traveled to Greenville from Los Angeles the day before her death with her partner, Brian Hickerson.

The actress, who rose to fame as a child star on the soap opera ‘Guiding Light’ and later starred in films such as ‘Ice Princess’, had recently shared personal struggles regarding addiction, postpartum depression, and the pressures of life in the spotlight in her memoir, ‘This Is Me: A Reckoning’.
