Hayden Panettiere received welfare check one week before death

Reports indicate that actress Hayden Panettiere was the subject of a welfare check by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department approximately one week before her death in August. According to call records, concerned friends and family requested the check on August 9 after she became unresponsive to communications and stopped answering her phone.

When authorities arrived at her West Hollywood apartment, Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, reportedly answered the door and stated she had been feeling unwell all day. An insider claimed that following a hospitalization a week prior to her passing, Panettiere told a friend that Hickerson had taken her phone.

Panettiere was later found deceased on August 16 in Greenville, South Carolina, following an overdose involving fentanyl, alprazolam, a muscle relaxer, and an antidepressant. Records also suggest police responded to her Los Angeles residence twice in 2025.
