Hayden Wilde leads field for French Riviera T100 triathlon

The French Riviera T100 triathlon is set to take place in Saint-Raphaël and Fréjus, featuring a highly competitive field. Hayden Wilde enters the race as the favorite and current leader of the Race To Qatar, holding a 25-point advantage over Jake Birtwhistle. Wilde, the 2025 winner, aims to defend his title despite recent respiratory issues that impacted his preparation.

The event is characterized by a significant number of athletes competing in back-to-back races, as twelve competitors, including Wilde, Jelle Geens, Rico Bogen, and Lasse Nygaard Priester, are participating just six days after the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Nice. This fatigue factor may provide an opening for other athletes such as Menno Koolhaas and Wilhelm Hirsch.

The T100 format consists of 100 kilometers, divided into 2 km of swimming, 80 km of cycling, and 18 km of running. The race includes nine of the top ten athletes from the Race To Qatar standings.
