Armenia-Russia military base status discussed by Putin and Pashinyan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia is prepared to withdraw its military presence from Armenia if the country deems the 102nd military base unnecessary. In response, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that while the issue of the base has not been formally discussed with the Russian President, Armenia would not object if Russia decided to withdraw.

The presence of the 102nd military base is governed by a 1995 agreement between Armenia and Russia, which was extended in 2010 and is currently set to remain in effect until 2044.

Separately, during a panel discussion at the Concordia Summit in New York, Prime Minister Pashinyan discussed Armenia's economic and technological developments. He highlighted the TRIPP project as a vital driver for regional connectivity and economic growth. He also noted that following a memorandum signed with the United States, three artificial intelligence centers have been established in Armenia within the past year, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation in information technology.
