Hayley Matthews and Justin Greaves win ICC Player of the Month awards

Hayley Matthews and Justin Greaves have been named the International Cricket Council (ICC) Players of the Month for July 2026. This marks the first time since the inception of the awards that players from Barbados and the West Indies have secured both the men’s and women’s titles in the same month.

Matthews earned her fifth ICC Women’s Player of the Month award following a dominant performance in the West Indies Women’s 3-0 ODI series victory over Ireland. During the series, she recorded 265 runs at an average of 132.50, including two centuries, and took seven wickets.

Greaves received the men’s award for his contributions with both bat and ball during Test series against Sri Lanka in Antigua and Pakistan in Trinidad. Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) President Calvin Hope praised the duo, describing the achievement as a reflection of the quality and excellence of West Indian cricket.
