Hayley Williams clashes with DHS over anti-ICE stage remarks

During a performance at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California, singer Hayley Williams paused her song ‘Ice In My OJ’ to shout ‘Fuck ICE’ and ‘Free motherfucking Palestine’.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responded to the remarks via a spokesperson, stating that ‘America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe’ and suggesting that Williams should ‘thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice’.

Williams addressed the DHS response through an Instagram story, using profanity to dismiss the agency. The singer has a history of vocal political stances, including previous support for Palestinian rights and solidarity with artists who left Ed Sheeran’s tour following Macklemore’s departure.
