Hazen High School cancels remainder of football regular season

Hazen High School in Renton has canceled the remainder of its football regular season following a previous forfeit against Bellevue. Principal Craig Cooper announced the decision, citing a combination of injuries, attrition, and academic suspensions that left the program with insufficient varsity-level players to safely compete.

The cancellation includes varsity games scheduled against Issaquah, Eastlake, Skyline, and a cross-divisional game on October 30. Junior varsity and C-team games against these opponents have also been canceled. The KingCo Conference has approved the forfeits.

School officials are currently working to find alternative opponents for the remaining players in the football program to ensure they have opportunities to compete.
