HBO announces five-episode revival of series Girls

HBO has approved a five-episode revival of the comedy-drama series ‘Girls’. The project will serve as a limited series rather than a full continuation, focusing on character development following the conclusion of the original sixth season.

Creator and star Lena Dunham will return alongside original cast members Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, and Jemima Kirke. Andrew Rannells is also set to reprise his role as Elijah Krantz. Dunham will serve as the creator and writer for the new episodes, with Judd Apatow, Ilene S. Landress, and Michael P. Cohen returning as executive producers.

Production for the new episodes is scheduled to begin in 2027. While a premiere date has not yet been announced, the revival marks a return to the series ten years after its initial debut in 2012.
