HBO expands Wizarding World production across Great Britain

HBO is developing a new Harry Potter series that aims to create a cohesive and expansive Wizarding World by blending massive studio sets with real-world locations across Great Britain. The production utilizes Leavesden Studios, which has been expanded to house permanent sets for iconic locations like Hogwarts classrooms and corridors.

To enhance realism and minimize reliance on green screens, the production team is filming in diverse natural settings, including ancient forests, coastal cliffs, and historic villages. This approach seeks to provide a tangible sense of geography and texture, connecting studio builds with practical locations such as London alleys, Scottish woods, and Welsh coasts to ensure visual continuity.
