HBO Max announces new releases Colisión and Bugonia

HBO Max is expanding its content library with new high-profile releases, including the contemporary melodrama ‘Colisión’ and the psychological thriller ‘Bugonia’.

Produced by Telemundo Studios, ‘Colisión’ is a 39-episode series centered on a family power struggle. The plot follows Zoé, played by Macarena Achaga, who returns to Mexico to lead her family business, only to face opposition from her mother, Belén, played by Margarita Rosa de Francisco. The production, filmed across locations in Mexico and London, explores themes of ambition and family secrets following the death of the family patriarch.

Additionally, the platform is hosting ‘Bugonia’, a film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. The film blends science fiction, suspense, and black humor, following two men obsessed with conspiracy theories who believe a powerful businesswoman is actually an extraterrestrial. The narrative focuses on the tension and uncertainty surrounding their attempt to uncover the truth.
