HBO Max announces October 2026 release schedule

HBO Max has announced its programming lineup for the week of October 12 to 18, 2026. A major highlight is the return of the mockumentary comedy series ‘The Paper’ for its second season, scheduled to premiere on October 15. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, the series follows the staff of the Toledo Truth Teller newspaper. In the new season, character Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, investigates a private club following the newspaper's recent journalistic recognition.

Actor Tim Key, who portrays the character Ken in ‘The Paper’, discussed the character's development for the upcoming season. Key noted that Ken remains focused on small, individual victories and personal tensions within the office rather than the broader success of the newspaper. Key described his approach to the role as intentionally creating discomfort and invading personal space during scenes to enhance the character's unsettling nature.

Other scheduled releases for the week include the Spanish drama ‘Os Domingos’, the fourth season of ‘Largados e Pelados Brasil’, and the Brazilian crime film ‘Território do Crime’. The lineup also features various documentaries, animations, and new episodes of existing productions.
