HBO Max announces release dates for Brazilian productions

HBO Max and Discovery Kids have announced upcoming releases for two Brazilian-themed productions. The second season of ‘Cidade de Deus: A Luta Não Para’ is scheduled to premiere on November 8 across HBO Max and the HBO channel. Spanning six episodes filmed in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, the series continues the narrative of the 2002 film, exploring themes of crime, politics, and justice following the death of the former drug lord Curió.

Additionally, the 9th season of the animated series ‘O Show da Luna!’ will debut on November 2 on Discovery Kids and HBO Max. This season focuses on the Amazon rainforest, featuring adventures in locations such as São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Afuá, and Ilha de Marajó. Developed in partnership with the Instituto Socioambiental, the season aims to highlight Amazonian biodiversity and local cultures, including the Palikur people.
