HBO Max expands Polish content with new local series

HBO Max is strengthening its position in the Polish market through a significant slate of local productions that have gained international recognition. Titles such as ‘Przesmyk’, directed by Jan P. Matuszyński, and the series ‘Proud’ have achieved popularity in markets including the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Brazil.

In 2026, the platform is scheduled to release six new Polish series. Upcoming premieres include ‘Niebo. Rok w piekle’, ‘Piekło kobiet’, ‘Klara. Rewolucja’, and ‘Zmora’, the latter of which is an adaptation of a Robert Małecki crime novel starring Magdalena Cielecka, set to debut on October 2. Also arriving in November is ‘Wśród nocnej ciszy’, directed by Jan Holoubek, which is inspired by a major criminal case in Polish history.

Looking toward 2027, HBO Max plans to release a second season of ‘Przesmyk’, following the disappearance of a character in Minsk, and a second season of the crime drama ‘Scheda’, directed by Anna Kazejak.
