The Pitt tops 2026 Emmy nominations with 25 nods, Hacks close behind
The Television Academy announced the 78th Primetime Emmy nominations on July 9. HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt led the field with 25 nominations, the most of any series, while the comedy Hacks recorded 24 nods – the highest ever for a single‑season comedy. Other heavily‑nominated shows include Apple TV+’s Widow’s Bay (19), Pluribus (18) and Netflix’s Beef (16). HBO Max amassed a total of 122 nominations overall, ahead of Netflix’s 111. The ceremony will be held on September 14 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
