HBO Max releases new series including medical reality and crime drama

HBO Max is expanding its content lineup with new series across different genres.

In Brazil, the medical reality series ‘A Rainha do Bisturi com Dra. Carol Brandão’ is set to premiere on September 10. The eight-episode production follows Dr. Carol Brandão as she treats complex skin conditions and lesions, exploring the impact of these medical issues on patient self-esteem and emotional well-being. The series aims to provide a transparent look at medical procedures, from diagnosis to recovery, while also offering glimpses into the doctor’s personal life and routine.

In the drama genre, the series ‘Task’, created by Brad Ingelsby, has arrived on the platform. Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, the crime thriller stars Mark Ruffalo as FBI agent Tom Brandis, who leads a task force investigating violent robberies while dealing with personal family tragedy. The narrative explores the tension between Brandis and Robbie Prendergrast, a character played by Tom Pelphrey, as the investigation uncovers secrets and the personal consequences of the protagonists' choices.
