HBO releases new trailer for Harry Potter television reboot

HBO has released new promotional material, including a second trailer, for its upcoming Harry Potter television series. The production is a complete reboot of the franchise based on the seven original books by J. K. Rowling, with a plan to adapt each book into a separate season.

The series features a new cast, led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Other notable cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Announced by Warner Bros. Discovery in April 2023, the project aims to provide a more detailed exploration of the characters and stories than the previous film adaptations. The production is expected to span approximately ten years, marking a return to the wizarding world fifteen years after the final film in the original franchise.
