HBO reveals details for new Harry Potter series
HBO has released the first teaser for its upcoming 'Harry Potter' television series, which is scheduled to premiere in Christmas 2026. The first season, titled 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,' will consist of eight episodes, allowing for a more in-depth exploration of the source material than previous film adaptations.
Filming is centered at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, which is being used to construct updated versions of Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. Production has also moved to various real-world locations across the United Kingdom, including London's Regent's Park Zoo, Borough High Street, and the Embankment area, to recreate key scenes from the first book.
The new cast features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Other notable cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner.
