HBO reveals wand designs and new cast for Harry Potter series
HBO has released new details regarding its upcoming Harry Potter television series, which is scheduled to premiere in December 2026. The production has unveiled redesigned wand specifications for key characters, including Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, and Neville Longbottom.
According to the reveals, Harry’s wand is made of holly with a phoenix feather core, maintaining the connection to Voldemort’s wand. Hermione’s wand is 27 cm of vine wood with a dragon heartstring core, while Ron uses a 31 cm ash wand inherited from his brother Charlie. Draco’s wand is 25 cm of hawthorn with unicorn hair. Details for Neville Longbottom’s wand remain limited, though it is noted as an inheritance from his father.
In addition to prop reveals, new casting information for the second season has emerged. Actors Rafe Spall, Molly Hewitt-Richards, and Jasper Ambrose have been announced to play Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, and Colin Creevey, respectively. Kit Harington is also set to portray Gilderoy Lockhart. The series is being led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod.
