HBO's '4 Blocks Zero' premieres on September 25

The German‑language HBO Max original series "4 Blocks Zero" – a prequel to the award‑winning crime drama "4 Blocks" – will launch on 25 September. The eight‑part series will debut with a new episode each Friday.

Set in 1990s Berlin, the show follows the Hamady family, refugees from Lebanon who struggle to build a life under precarious residency status. Father Malik works as an unskilled cook while his children Ali, Abbas, Marwan and Amara face prejudice and hardship. The plot intensifies when uncle Ibrahim returns from an eight‑year prison term, pulling the family into the city’s criminal underworld.

The cast includes Tariq Al‑Saies as Ibrahim, Tareq Nassery as young Ali (later Toni Hamady), Rami Fadel Khalaf as Malik, and Soufiane El Mesaudi as Abbas, among others. Directors Özgür Yıldırım and Hüseyin Tabak return from the original series, and an official teaser has already been released.
