HBO’s ‘DTF St. Louis’ receives 13 Emmy nominations

The HBO limited seriesDTF St. Louis’, a dark comedy created by Steven Conrad, has received 13 nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. Nominations include Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, as well as acting nods for Jason Bateman, David Harbour, Linda Cardellini, Richard Jenkins, and Joy Sunday.

David Harbour, who executive produced and helped develop the series, portrays Floyd Smernitch, a lonely suburban stepdad and ASL interpreter. The role marks a significant departure from his previous work, involving the use of a prosthetic belly and unflattering clothing. The series explores themes of suburban malaise and mystery, inspired by a New Yorker article titled ‘My Dentist’s Murder Trail’.

Cinematographer James Whitaker, an Emmy nominee, was also recognized for his visual work on the production. Whitaker previously collaborated with Conrad on projects such as ‘Patriot’ and ‘Perpetual Grace, LTD’.
