HC Oceláři Třinec players Petr Sikora and Filip Pyrochta discuss NHL move and family relocation

Forward Petr Sikora, 20, signed a contract with the Washington Capitals after a successful junior career that included a world‑junior title and a silver medal in the Czech Extraliga. He missed a nomination for the senior World Championship and is preparing for the move to North America with intensive training, including boxing, and acknowledges the physical and cultural challenges of playing overseas.

Veteran Filip Pyrochta, who joined Oceláři Třinec after stints in Liberec, Komet Česká Lipa, Vítkovice and abroad, praised the club’s facilities and the supportive environment. He highlighted the family’s relocation from Mladá Boleslav to Třinec, noting the importance of staying close to home while pursuing top‑level hockey.
