HCLTech opens $19.5M semiconductor testing facility in Bengaluru
HCLTech has launched a new Advanced Semiconductor Lab in Bengaluru, representing an investment of approximately ₹185 crore ($19.5 million). The 40,000-square-foot facility is designed to provide end-to-end post-silicon engineering services, including automated electrical testing, post-production qualification, and detailed failure analysis.
The laboratory includes 25,000 square feet of specialized Class 10K and Class 1K cleanrooms. It is equipped with advanced diagnostic and testing tools from global suppliers such as Teradyne, Advantest, Keysight, Tektronix, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. By integrating these systems, the facility aims to reduce testing complexity and accelerate the time-to-market for semiconductor products.
Operating under the company’s ‘Spec2Parts’ commercial model, the lab will serve both domestic and international markets. Hari Sadarahalli, HCLTech’s corporate vice president and global head of engineering and R&D services, stated that the facility reinforces India’s expanding role in high-end semiconductor engineering and research and development.
