Héctor Castañeda Arceo joins Mexico's National System of Art Creators

Héctor Castañeda Arceo, a university theater director, actor, playwright, and project manager, has been admitted to Mexico’s National System of Art Creators (SNCA) under the category of Dramaturgy (performing arts).

Established in 1993 by the Secretaría de Cultura, the SNCA aims to allow artists to dedicate the majority of their time to creation. Selected creators receive a monthly economic stimulus of 32,000 pesos for three years. Approximately 200 creators are chosen annually.

Castañeda Arceo, who has worked in theater for 26 years, noted that the recognition validates the cultural importance of creating from regions like Colima and Tecomán. His recent successful productions include ‘Demonios blancos’ and ‘Las voces en mi cabeza’.
