Sporting KC defeats Houston Dynamo 2-0

Sporting Kansas City secured a 2-0 road victory against the Houston Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium. Andre Luiz led the offensive effort, scoring in the 27th minute following an assist from Stephen Afrifa, and later providing an assist to Calvin Harris, who scored in the 45th minute to extend the lead.

The match was marked by a significant disciplinary incident when Houston midfielder Hector Herrera received a red card during first-half stoppage time for violent conduct. The incident involved Herrera grabbing the neck of Sporting KC's Taylor Calheira during a skirmish.

Goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland recorded his first career MLS shutout, making five saves to help Sporting KC secure the win. The result marks a notable turnaround for Kansas City following previous losses, while Houston remains in the hunt for the top of the Western Conference despite the defeat.
