Héctor Álvarez wins under-23 European time trial title

Héctor Álvarez secured a double victory at the European Cycling Championships, winning both the road race and the men's under-23 time trial. The 22.1-kilometer course featured the challenging Mozjanca climb, which presented significant difficulty for the competitors.

Belgian rider Matisse Van Kerckhove finished in second place with a time of 28:47, narrowly missing the gold by three seconds. Norway's Kasper Haugland took the bronze medal, finishing just over one second ahead of the reigning world champion, Ryan Gal of the Netherlands, who finished in fourth place.

While Gal had previously secured the world title in Canada, he was unable to replicate that success on this shorter but more demanding course in Slovenia.
