Héctor Porcella proposes new aviation law and superintendency for Dominican Republic
Héctor Porcella, the newly appointed advisor to the Dominican Executive Branch on civil aviation, has proposed the creation of a new Aviation Law and a Civil Aviation Superintendency. The goal of these measures is to unify the Dominican aeronautical sector under a single organization to improve efficiency, transparency, and resource optimization.
Currently, functions related to civil aviation are distributed across various institutions. Porcella’s proposal seeks to centralize these responsibilities to streamline operations. Appointed by President Luis Abinader, Porcella also joins the Civil Aviation Board (JAC). He noted that this marks the first time an advisor specifically for civil aviation has been appointed in the country.
