HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun prioritizes safety and long-term growth

HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun emphasized the importance of long-term strategic decision-making and safety during a group-wide executive meeting held at the Pangyo Global R&D Center. Attended by leaders from 11 affiliates across the shipbuilding, marine, energy, and construction equipment sectors, the meeting focused on reviewing first-half performance and establishing execution strategies for the second half of the year.

Chung urged executives to avoid being consumed by short-term results, noting that the group has previously faced difficulties by failing to read market changes due to an obsession with immediate performance. He stated a commitment to creating a sustainable management environment by looking 10 to 20 years ahead. Additionally, Chung designated safety as the highest management priority, asserting that the group's future vision can only be realized when safety is guaranteed.

The leadership team also discussed accelerating AI transformation (AX) and reviewed the implementation of AI technologies across the group. This included assessing the effectiveness of information security measures to mitigate risks associated with digital integration.
