HD Hyundai Construction Equipment to supply 45 excavators to Hong Kong MTR project

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has announced the supply of 45 medium-to-large excavators to the MTR Corporation for the Tung Chung Line extension project in Hong Kong. The shipment includes seven 53-ton DEVELON large excavators and 38 units ranging from 14 to 36 tons.

The machinery will be utilized for the construction of new stations and a 1.2km railway extension. Due to the soft ground conditions of the coastal reclamation site, there is high demand for specialized equipment, potentially leading to further orders for 80-ton and 100-ton ultra-large models.

This contract is noted for overcoming competition from lower-priced Chinese equipment by emphasizing fuel efficiency and customer service. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has sold a total of 75 units in Hong Kong this year and aims to exceed annual sales of 100 units by 2029 as Hong Kong expands its public infrastructure budget.
