HÜDA PAR drives nationwide school‑mosque campaign, sparks massive online response

HÜDA PAR’s Elazığ branch, led by Metin Suiçer, launched the #HerOkulaMescit campaign urging that every Turkish school include a mosque for Friday prayers. The initiative quickly dominated Turkish social‑media trends, generating over 450,000 posts and attracting more than one million supporters, and it later appeared in international online discussions.

The party also issued a broader statement defending the right to worship in schools, condemning critics as attempting to provoke sectarian tension. HÜDA PAR accused opponents of distorting legitimate political criticism and framed the opposition’s stance as an attack on religious freedom and constitutional rights. The organization pledged to continue advocating for school mosques and to protect what it describes as fundamental human and religious rights.
