HDBank teams up with Vietnam tax authority to digitise small‑business tax filing
On 12 June 2026 in Hanoi, HDBank and the Vietnam Tax Department signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at helping small‑business households shift from the former quota‑tax system to a declared‑tax model. The partnership will provide digital solutions such as electronic invoicing, e‑signatures, cash‑less payment tools and a “zero‑fee” business account package to simplify tax filing and encourage electronic payments.
The Hanoi tax office cautioned that accepting only cash payments to hide revenue is illegal under the new 2026 rules that ended the quota‑tax scheme. It highlighted ongoing use of banking data, big‑data analytics and AI to monitor transactions, and warned of penalties, tax arrears and possible criminal prosecution for tax evasion. The agency continues to promote non‑cash payment methods—bank transfers, QR codes, e‑wallets—to improve transparency and revenue collection.
