Hıdırnebi Plateau Festival added to Turkey’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List

The Traditional Hıdırnebi Plateau Festival in Akçaabat has been officially added to the Intangible Cultural Heritage List by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This recognition formalizes the centuries-old tradition as a shared cultural value of Turkey.

The festival serves as a symbol of solidarity and nature-based living for the Black Sea people, incorporating traditional music, the horon dance, and communal cooperation. Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim stated that the registration is a historic achievement for the region, emphasizing the importance of preserving these cultural values for future generations.
