HDZ leadership prepares for crisis meeting amid falling ratings

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is expected to attend the assembly as he begins preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for next spring. The gathering is viewed by party insiders as a mobilization effort to secure Plenković’s fourth mandate and address internal challenges.

Key political pressures facing the party include the Gospić affair, which has become a national issue, and the potential unification of opposition parties SDP and Možemo. Recent polls suggest the combined rating of these opposition groups may exceed that of the HDZ.
