He Xin-chun criticizes Taichung transit infrastructure during campaign

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Taichung mayoral candidate He Xin-chun held a press conference at the Shuinan Transit Center to criticize current infrastructure deficiencies. She described the facility as suffering from a ‘four nos and one none’ crisis, noting that despite its 4.7 billion TWD construction cost, it lacks sufficient national and city bus routes, integrated ticketing services, and efficient traffic flow.

He proposed three major improvements if elected: integrating passenger ticketing systems with automated machines, strengthening the bus network to connect major commercial areas, and collaborating with the central government to improve access to National Highway 1.

In a separate campaign event in Fengyuan, He received support from high-ranking officials, including Presidential Secretary-General Pan Meng-an and Minister of Transportation Chen Shih-kai. Pan emphasized the importance of central-local coordination, while Chen argued that He would be better positioned to cooperate with the central government on major projects like the Taichung MRT compared to the incumbent mayor.
