Head-on collisions reported in Bolivia and Peru

Two separate head-on traffic accidents occurred in Bolivia and Peru.

In Bolivia, a bus operated by Expreso Cochabamba collided head-on with a dump truck on the Potosí–Oruro highway near Chullpa Ckasa. The accident, which may have been caused by a lane invasion by the heavy vehicle, left the bus driver and his son seriously injured. The bus was carrying 36 passengers to La Paz, though initial reports suggest other occupants did not sustain significant injuries.

In Peru, a minivan collided head-on with an ECO LATINO bus at the intersection of La Legua and Catacaos in the Piura region. Preliminary information suggests the minivan traveled in the opposing lane for approximately seven kilometers before the impact. The driver of the minivan was injured and transported to a medical facility. Witnesses alleged the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol, though authorities have yet to officially confirm this.
