Health advice for managing sugar consumption

Excessive sugar consumption in a diet can pose various health risks. To manage intake, several dietary recommendations are suggested.

First, avoid replacing water with sugary beverages such as soft drinks, milk tea, energy drinks, or bottled teas. Sugars in liquid form are absorbed quickly and often do not provide a sense of fullness relative to the energy provided. Second, avoid adding extra sugar to foods and drinks that already possess natural sweetness, such as coffee, tea, or lemon juice.

Third, it is important to recognize that alternatives like brown sugar, honey, or palm sugar still provide sugar and energy and should not be consumed without limit. Fourth, limit the daily consumption of processed snacks like cookies, cakes, chocolate, and ice cream, which often contain significant amounts of sugar.
