Health and lifestyle advice regarding fruit consumption and mosquito repellent plants

Health experts advise caution regarding fruit consumption habits. While fruits are rich in vitamins, fiber, and minerals, consuming excessive amounts in a single sitting can lead to an overconsumption of natural sugars and carbohydrates. This is particularly important for individuals managing diabetes, obesity, or blood sugar levels. Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong from Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi suggests that healthy adults should aim for approximately 200-300g of fruit per day, divided into two to three servings.

In terms of home wellness, certain common plants can serve as natural mosquito repellents. Plants such as basil, mint, lavender, catnip, perilla, marigold, and rosemary contain scents or compounds like nepetalactone that can help deter mosquitoes, which are known vectors for diseases such as dengue fever and malaria.
