Health and peace initiatives honored through awards and sports

The Akif Manaf Health and Peace Award, presented by the Sağlıklı Yaşam Vakfı, has been dedicated to the memory of poet Nâzım Hikmet Ran this year. The foundation chose to honor Hikmet due to his poetic vision of peace and brotherhood, which aligns with the award's mission to support individuals and organizations promoting a culture of peace and sustainable living.

In Turkey, Yeşilay hosted its first Yeşilay Half Marathon in Istanbul. The event featured a 21-kilometer half marathon, a 10-kilometer run, and a 10-kilometer skating race. Starting from the organization's headquarters at Sepetçiler Kasrı, participants traveled through historical routes including Galata Bridge and Beşiktaş. The initiative aims to promote healthy living as a psychological tool and a preventive measure against addiction.
