Health and social protection initiatives launched in Venezuela

Various health and social assistance programs have been implemented across different Venezuelan municipalities to support local populations.

In the José Ángel Lamas municipality, the ‘Ruta Rosa’ initiative provided medical services to over 300 women. The program included pelvic and mammary ultrasounds, cytologies, bone densitometry, diabetes and hypertension screening, vaccinations, and legal advice. The event, held in conjunction with World Breast Cancer Day, also featured physical activities such as dance therapy to promote mental and physical well-being.

In the José Antonio Páez municipality, a special health and social protection day was held at the La Aurora 2 Mission Base. This collaborative effort between local government, the Red Cross, and community health teams provided free consultations in general medicine, gynecology, dentistry, and immunization. Additionally, social workers conducted technical assessments to identify and assist families in situations of extreme vulnerability.
