Health and welfare initiatives support children in Brazil and Burundi
In Brazil, the Casa da Criança Santa Inês, a school and daycare center located near the Belem favela in the state of Pará, recently hosted a vaccination and prevention event. Supported by the Ai. Bi. Amici dei Bambini project, the initiative collaborated with a local health center to vaccinate 85 people, including children and adults. The program aims to combat endemic diseases and ensure children maintain updated vaccination schedules to protect their long-term health.
In Burundi, the association ‘Amici del Burundi e di P. Vittorio Blasi’ continues to manage two orphanages established through the legacy of missionary Vittorio Blasi. Founded in 1996 to honor Blasi’s work during the 1993 ethnic conflicts, the organization relies on approximately 2,000 supporters through distance adoption programs. One of the orphanages has achieved economic self-sufficiency through internal agricultural activities.
