Health authorities implement regional medical improvements in Venezuela and Panama

Health authorities in Venezuela and Panama are conducting localized efforts to improve medical services and immunization coverage.

In Barinas, Venezuela, the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI) deployed technical teams to monitor vaccination schemes in hard-to-reach areas of the Bolívar municipality. Due to difficult terrain, health professionals utilized land, river, and zipline transport to reach communities such as Villa de Coromoto, Prado de María, and Palmarito. The door-to-door inspections aimed to audit national immunization compliance for children under five and verify adult vaccinations for Yellow Fever and Typhoid Fever.

In Panama, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced plans to reinforce the Cirilo Escobar Health Center in the Escobal district of Colón. Following meetings with local authorities, officials committed to improving infrastructure, providing medical supplies, and conducting thorough cleaning of the facility. Additionally, coordination with the National Police is underway to enhance security at the health center.
