Health authorities in Argentina call for blood donations amid supply decline

The Ministry of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires has issued an urgent appeal for blood donations following a significant decrease in volunteers. The La Plata Regional Hemotherapy Center reported a 22% drop in donors compared to the same month last year, recording only 1,674 donors in September versus 2,150 in the previous year.

Currently, the center averages 64 donors per day, while officials state that a minimum of 100 to 120 daily donors is required to meet transfusion demands and maintain necessary stocks. While officials noted the situation is not yet critical, they emphasized the importance of increasing donations to ensure life-saving supplies are available for future needs.
