Health awareness campaigns held across Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia

Various health awareness initiatives and commemorative events are taking place across the Balkans. In Serbia, the Association of Multiple Myeloma Patients is participating in the European Myeloma Day campaign. This initiative, supported by the International Myeloma Foundation and Myeloma Patients Europe, focuses on educating general practitioners to recognize early symptoms through the ‘Myeloma Diagnosis Pathway’ to prevent disease progression.

In Croatia, National Multiple Sclerosis Day was marked in Đurđevac under the slogan ‘When support becomes strength’. With over 8,000 people living with MS in the country, organizers highlighted improvements in diagnostic accessibility and treatment, while emphasizing the critical need for specialized MS centers and the ongoing struggle regarding employment for those with disabilities.

Additionally, in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the International Day of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing was observed. The Inter-municipal Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Prijedor celebrated its 70th anniversary, highlighting challenges such as employment and the high cost of medication for elderly members.
