Health benefits of combining walking, yoga, and stair climbing

Physical activity experts highlight the benefits of combining different forms of movement to improve health and stability. Xuan Lan, founder of XLYStudio, suggests that yoga is an ideal complement to walking. While walking provides cardio and leg strength, yoga addresses areas walking may miss, such as proprioception, coordination, mobility, and stability. Specifically, yoga can stretch the posterior chain and hip flexors tightened by walking, while simultaneously toning the core, glutes, and back through active support.

Additionally, incorporating stair climbing into a daily routine serves as an effective aerobic exercise. It can rapidly increase heart rate, improve endurance, and activate metabolism. To prevent injuries to the lower back or joints, experts recommend maintaining an upright posture, engaging the core, and using the entire sole of the foot for stable support.
