Health campaigns launched in Chiloé and Ñuñoa to provide specialist care
Specialized medical initiatives are underway in Chiloé, Chile, and Ñuñoa, Peru, to address healthcare needs and reduce waiting lists.
In Chiloé, an otorhinolaryngology operation coordinated by UC CHRISTUS and the Chiloé Health Service is taking place through November 7. The initiative includes outpatient consultations and more than 30 surgeries at the Castro and Quellón hospitals. Patients can receive evaluations, necessary exams such as audiometry and nasofibroscopy, and clinical follow-ups within a single session to provide more resolute care.
In the Ñuñoa district of Melgar, a free medical campaign is being held on November 7 and 8. Supported by the company Minsur through the Santo Domingo project, the campaign offers eight specialties: pediatrics, gynecology, cardiology, ophthalmology, rheumatology, pulmonology, general medicine, and dentistry. The services are free for children, adults, seniors, and pregnant women, with Minsur providing logistical support, specialist funding, and certain medications.
