Health Canada Secures Permanent Injunction Against Quebec Peptide Vendor Canlab Research
Canada’s health regulator obtained a permanent injunction from the Superior Court of Québec prohibiting Quebec‑based online retailer Canlab Research from manufacturing, testing, distributing, selling or advertising unauthorized injectable peptide products. The court order follows a temporary injunction issued in 2024 after Health Canada repeatedly warned that the company marketed peptides with unproven claims for anti‑aging, weight loss, bodybuilding and athletic performance. Health Canada highlighted serious health risks, noting that such unauthorized peptides can cause hormonal imbalance, mood swings, blood‑sugar disruption, liver or kidney damage, blood clots and possible tumor growth. In Canada, injectable peptides are classified as prescription drugs and must be authorized before sale. Canlab Research’s website now carries a legal notice dated April 2025 stating it is complying with the court’s directives.
