Health centers in Argentina and Venezuela adopt new X-ray technologies

In Argentina, the Martín Fierro primary health center in Hernández, Entre Ríos, has modernized its radiology services by incorporating an X-ray plate digitizer. The investment of 22,602,000 pesos aims to replace analog developing processes with digital technology, improving image quality and reducing wait times. The new system utilizes Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to allow for immediate study exchange and digital storage for patient follow-up.

In Venezuela, the Aragua State Health Corporation (Corposalud) has acquired a modern portable X-ray unit equipped with digital technology to intensify tuberculosis screening in vulnerable areas. The device features high autonomy, including an integrated control panel and a solar-powered recharging system designed for use in hard-to-reach locations. This initiative, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Fund, will prioritize indigenous communities, vulnerable populations, and correctional facilities.
