Health centers in Bolivia and Panama face infrastructure and service demands
In Oruro, Bolivia, the Socamani Health Center is progressing toward official accreditation. Following inspections by the Departmental Health Service (Sedes) and the Urban Health Network, the facility is undergoing infrastructure improvements, including painting and environmental conditioning, to meet technical requirements. Authorities have also managed improvements to the access road to facilitate easier transit for patients and staff.
In the Las Palmas district of Panama, residents and local officials are demanding that the local health center be upgraded to a MINSA-CAPSI. Community representatives argue that current service hours and limited medical scope are insufficient, particularly for those in remote areas. Despite repeated requests, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Health in Veraguas has not provided a concrete response to the proposal for expanded services.
