Ebola crisis in DR Congo prompts urgent medical pleas and regional training
The Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to face a severe Ebola crisis, with 7,258 confirmed cases and 3,510 deaths reported as of mid-September 2026. While transmission is decreasing in Ituri, cases are rising in North Kivu. In response to recurring outbreaks, the East African Community (EAC), supported by the German government, is conducting specialized training for 120 health professionals in Nairobi, Kenya.
