Health departments launch seasonal flu vaccination clinics
Health departments and medical centers are launching seasonal influenza vaccination clinics to prepare for the upcoming flu season.
Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester is hosting a drive-through flu shot clinic at its Rochester Northwest Clinic from September 28 to October 15. The clinic operates without appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Oswego County, the Health Department will offer vaccination clinics starting October 2. These sessions will be held by appointment only on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone aged six months and older receive the vaccine to prevent severe illness. High-risk groups include children under five, seniors over 65, pregnant individuals, and those with chronic medical conditions.
