Health expert identifies five global regions for longevity
Medical professional Jorge Tartaglione has identified five specific regions where residents experience higher longevity, attributing much of this to lifestyle rather than genetics. Tartaglione stated that while genetics account for approximately 25 percent of lifespan, individual choices define the remaining 75 percent.
The identified locations and their contributing factors include:
Loma Linda, California, where religious faith is linked to an additional 10 years of life.
Costa Rica, where a diet of tropical fruits and a calm lifestyle contribute to residents living beyond age 80.
Icaria, Greece, where frequent physical activity through walking hilly terrain is a key factor.
Sardinia, Italy, where the consumption of natural, unprocessed foods is central to health.
Okinawa, Japan, where residents maintain a daily sense of purpose and vision.
